
Hi, if your kids are bored play this, What’s the Biggest Animal Quiz game with them. It’ll keep them busy for a few minutes and keep them sharp.

For the quiz you will need:
- Some people to play, in fact, as many or as few as you like.
- Some pencils and pieces of paper.
- And a quiz master….
- On the paper get the participants to write the numbers 1- 10 with and extra line below marked ‘p’ for points. Something like this will do:

This is how the quiz works:
The quiz master asks each question. If anyone knows the answer straight away, they write it down and mark 10 points in the line below and put their pencil down.
If anyone hasn’t got it, read out the the first letter of the answer. They write down the answer and 5 points in the line below and put the pencil down.
If anyone still hasn’t got it, read out the clue provided. Write down the answer, if they get it and 3 points in the line below then put the pencil down.
But if anyone still needs help, read out the A, B, C, D multiple choice answers. If they get it this time write down the answer and 1 point in the line below.
Read out the answer and see who was right, and how many points they got.
Here’s an example quiz question you can use it as a warm up or a bonus question or even a tie breaker:
Example Quiz Question:
For 10 points: What is the biggest species of penguin in the world?
For 5 points: The first letter of its name is E.
For 3 points: You get a clue, it’s a ruler but not a king.
And for 1 point: The multiple choice is…
A. Emperor
B. Humboldt
C. Chocolate
D. Hummingbird
Of Course, the answer is a Emperor Penguin, but I bet you knew that anyway. Now it’s on with the real quiz.

We’ll start with an easy quiz question…
Quiz Question 1:
For 10 points: What is the largest land animal on Earth?
For 5 points: The 1st letter is E.
For 3 points: You get a clue. There’s a song about one called Nelly.
And for 1 point: The multiple choice is…
A. Dodo
B. Horse
C. Monkey
D. Elephant
The answer is… The elephant, the biggest of which is the African elephant.
Like an elephant you’ll never forget that one. Well done if you got it! Make a note of the points you got and on to the next quiz question.
Quiz Question 2:
For 10 points: What is the tallest animal in the world?
For 5 points: The 1st letter is G
For 3 points: You get a clue. They have a very long neck.
And for 1 point: The multiple choice is…
A. Butterfly
B. Giraffe
C. Hippo
D. Galapagos Tortoise
The answer is… A Giraffe of course.
Fun Fact: Giraffe’s long necks help them reach leaves high in the trees but that’s not the only thing they use them for. Check out this video to see the giraffes in action.

10 points: Which species of bird is the largest?
For 5 points: The first letter is O.
For 3 points: You get a clue, they are supposed to bury their head’s in the sand.
And for 1 point: The multiple choice is…
A. Emu
B. Ostrich
C. Osprey
D. Pigeon
The answer is… An Ostrich!
Fun fact: Ostriches can’t fly but boy can they run, reaching speeds of 70 kilometres an hour, that’s 45 miles. Wow that’s fast.

For 10 points: What is the world’s largest reptile?
For 5 points: The 1st letter is C
For 3 points: You get a clue, you shouldn’t smile at one.
And for 1 point: The multiple choice is…
A. Caiman
B. Crocodile
C. Frog
D. Parrot
The answer is… A crocodile, the saltwater kind to be exact.

Fun fact: The crocodile is such a successful creature they have been on Earth for some 200 million years.

For 10 points: Which is the biggest big cat?
For 5 points: The 1st letter is T.
For 3 points: You get a clue, they are stripy and scary.

The answer is…the Siberian Tiger

The answer is… A Polar Bear is considered the biggest.

The answer is… the Manta Ray.

The answer is… the Gorilla is the largest ape.
Fun fact: You can tell the difference between an ape and monkey by whether it has a tail or not. Monkeys do and apes don’t.

D. Iguana
The answer is… The Komodo Dragon.
Fun Fact: The Komodo dragon grows to nearly 3 metres long!

The answer is… A Blue Whale of course.
